ABOUT US

I’m Dave Payne — a mechanical engineer, lifelong tinkerer, and outdoors junkie who’s spent nearly three decades in different departments at HP solving problems for them. I ski, mountain bike, raft, play volleyball, and yes — I shoot. I’m also a husband, dad of four, and proud grandpa. I love inventing things that make everyday gear smarter, tougher, and more fun to use.

As a kid I was always inventing and building something. A couple of my ideas were developed and turned into retail products that I have sold in stores and on the Internet. When I started carrying a concealed weapon, I couldn't find a holster that I liked so I decided to develop my own. I didn't like the fact that most holsters made even my smallest gun feel large and bulky inside the waistband. I quickly determined that the key features for a carry holster would be trigger protection, gun retention and holster retention. I also knew that this design would need to be comfortable or I wouldn't want to wear it. Zero Carry was born! I now have over 100 unique designs that are sold on my Zero Carry website, and proudly made in the USA.

Target Tumbler grew out of that same itch: make target practice more real, more exciting, and more useful. Tired of static targets that don’t mimic real-world motion, I designed a simple, rugged system that brings dynamic movement to the range. The result is a snap-together ramp system with rolling steel plates — fast to set up, built to take a beating, and engineered to sharpen reflexes and accuracy.

My design background started with holsters — lightweight, exoskeleton-style solutions that prioritize comfort, retention, and safety. That work taught me to focus on smart mechanics and user-first design: make it solid, make it simple, make it disappear when you don’t need it. Target Tumbler applies those same principles — durable materials, thoughtful motion, and a portable system you can set up in minutes.

What you get with Target Tumbler:

  • A training tool built for real-world movement and reaction drills.
  • Rugged steel targets and an adjustable ramp for every skill level.
  • Fast, setup so you spend less time prepping and more time shooting.
  • Proudly engineered in Star, Idaho — designed by shooters, for shooters.

Whether you train for competition, tactical readiness, or just better range days with your buddies, Target Tumbler turns ordinary practice into a challenge that sharpens skills and makes every round count.

Train smarter. Shoot faster. Get rolling.
