TROUBLE SHOOTING, TIPS, & TRICKS

Keep your Target Tumbler rolling strong. Find quick fixes, expert tips, and range-tested tricks to get the most out of every session.

Discs not feeding

  • Level the system using the integrated bubble level

  • Check battery level (use on/off switch when not in use)

  • Check battery contacts inside battery pack. Slide batteries away from spring contact side to insure the “+” side is contacting the terminal

  • Check for dirt or debris inside of the Magazine rail

  • Keep a rag handy for dusting off discs in between uses

  • Check battery inside the remote-control fob

    • If batteries are replaced, reprograming of the fob may be necessary as the fob and Target Tumbler electronics are “paired” devices.

    • Remote fob re-programing steps:

      • Remove the lid on the TARGET TUMBLER base using a flat blade screwdriver or object

      • Locate the small controller board on the right-hand side inner wall of the box cavity

      • Locate the small, round, black button on the controller board

      • Press the black button on time. In a second, the blue light on the board will come on. When it does, press the “ON” button on the fob one time. The blue light will flash. Press the fob button again and the release mechanism will activate proving that the process has been successful.

Battery life

  • Use rechargeable batteries

  • Turn unit off when not in use

  • Remote programming

    • Remote fob re-programing steps:

Discs not rolling

  • Unclear roll path – check for large obstructions and remove

  • Tripod not level – check integrated bubble level on the top of the tripod

  • Discs fall off the flex rail prematurely - Flex rail not straight and true – align the flex rail to the rail assembly – tighten the tension system if necessary

  • Dirty mag rail – ensure no dirt or debris has contaminated the inside of the mag rail

  • Damaged disc – check for dinged or nicked edges. File edge or hammer to fix. Replace if necessary

Ramp rails separating during use

  • Tension spring and cord not tight enough – re-tie the loop knot on flex rail end. Make the cord shorter. The spring should be stretched to approximately 2X its relaxed length for proper tensioning

Tripod instability

  • Move the 3 legs out and away from the center. This will give a larger, more stable base. Re-level by adjusting leg lengths

  • If needed, add weight to tripod or anchor the tripod legs to the ground (see below)

  • WIND! – Wind can topple the system. If shooting in windy conditions, hang weight from the tripod hook below the TARGET TUMBLER base unit. This can be a bag or rocks, bullets, an ammo can or nearly anything. Do not exceed about 5 lbs.

Disc rolling instability

  • Check for large objects in the disc rolling path

  • WIND! – wind blowing perpendicular to the rolling path can case disc instability and rolling issues. If possible/safe Re-orient the system to align the roll path WITH the wind.

Remote control not working

  • Replace remote battery

  • Replace AA batteries in pack

  • Reprogramming remote control system

    • Remote fob re-programing steps:

      • Remove the lid on the TARGET TUMBLER base using a flat blade screwdriver or object

      • Locate the small controller board on the right-hand side inner wall of the box cavity

      • Locate the small, round, black button on the controller board

      • Press the black button on time. In a second, the blue light on the board will come on. When it does, press the “ON” button on the fob one time. The blue light will flash. Press the fob button again and the release mechanism will activate proving that the process has been successful.

Damage to discs

  • Unsupported calibers or ammunition used

  • For use with 22 LR, .380, 9mm or smaller caliber

  • Soft shot (not steel) from shotguns are acceptable

  • DO NOT use steel bullets or armor piercing ammo

  • Some damage is acceptable for normal operation. If damage is impeding free motion inside of the magazine rail, replace the disc
